Hey my lovely Chameleons. In today's blog I'm going to do a blog that I have never done before, and that is to talk about books. To be more pacific, a book series that I got into during quarantine. This series is called, Sullivan's Crossing by Robyn Carr. Robyn also wrote Virgin River, and Virgin River is a show on Netflix. Anyway, back to Sullivan's Crossing.
I got into Sullivan's Crossing last year in April when I went to Walmart and decided to look at the books. I thought of buying myself a book and The Country Guesthouse looked good, so I bought the book.While reading the book I noticed on the cover it said "A Sullivan's Crossing Novel" I looked up on my phone to see what were the next books after this one I need to read. I was reading the last book... I ended buying the last 4 on Amazon as used copies. It took me over a year to read all of them, and now I am back to book 5. Before I talk about what each book is about, I wanna say what the whole series is about. I will be saying the description on the back of the books, cause I am bad at putting the book in my words.
What We Find (Book 1) - Between the urban bustle of Denver and the stressful environment of of a career in neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan hit a wall. When a emergency high-risk procedure results in death of a teenager, Maggie finds herself in the middle of a lawsuit-and experience levels of anxiety she's never faced before. She knows she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can think to do that is Sullivan's Crossing. Named for Maggie's great-grandfather, the land and charming general store at the crossroads of Colorado and the Continental Divide Trails have been passed down through the generations and now belongs to Maggie's eccentric father, Sully. In Sullivan's Crossing Sierra learns to cherish the family you are given and the family you choose.
The Family Gathering (Book 3) - Having left the military, Dakota Jones is at a crossroads in his life. With his eldest brother, Cal and youngest sister, Sierra happily settled in at Sullivan's Crossing, he's shows up hoping to clear his head before moving on to the next adventure. But, like every visitor to the Crossing, he's immediately drawn to the down-to-earth people and the seemingly simple way of life. Dakota is unprepared for how quickly things get complicated. As a new comer, he is on everyone's radar-especially the single women in town. While he enjoys the attention at first, he's really only attracted to the one women who isn't interested. And spending quality time with his siblings is eye-opening. As he gets to know them, he also gets to know himself and what her truly wants.
When all the Jones siblings: Cal, Sedona, Dakota, and Sierra, gather for a family wedding, the four adults are drawn together for the first time in a way they never were as children. The Best Of Us (Book 4) - Dr. Leigh Culver loves practicing medicine in Timberlake, Colorado. It is a much-needed change of pace from her stressful life in Chicago. The only draw back is she misses her aunt Helen, the women who raised her. The Country Guesthouse (Book 5) - Hannah Russell's carefully crafted plans for her life have been upended without warning. When her best friend died suddenly, Hannah becomes guardian to a five-year-old named Noah. With no experience at motherhood, she's terrified she's not up to the challenge. She and Noah need time to know each other, so she decides to rent a country house with stunning views on the lake in rural Colorado. When they arrive at the house, they are greeted by the owner, a handsome man who promises to stay out of their way. But his clumsy Great Dane, Romeo has other ideas and Noah immediately bonds with the lovable dog. As Hannah learns to become a mother, Owen Abram, who is recovering from his own grief, can't help but be drawn out of his solitude by his guests.
But life throws more challenges at this unlikely trio and they are tested in ways the never thought possible. All three will discover their strengths and despite their differences, they will fight to become a family. And the people of Sullivan's Crossing will rally around them to offer all the support they need.
While reading the books in order and stopped in the middle of book 5, to do so I felt that the campground was my second home and everybody was my second family. That is how attach to the books I am. The only thing that I don't like is after reading book 1 and 2 that take place into the campground I missed the campground in book 3, cause your not there much, and you are mostly in the town and bar. Other than that, I love this series and I hope they will be made into movies, cause when I read them I can see the being Hallmark movies and I can see the cast in my head. No kidding, I actually have a note pad in my phone of who I see play in Sullivan's Crossing. I love these books. This was the best find during quarantine and is my favourite series. Like I said, they feel like my second family. That is how much I love these books.
