Airplane Mode Movie Review

Hey my lovely Chameleons. In today's blog I decided that I wanted to write another Netflix Movie Review. Since I wrote a Movie Review on Tall Girl, that came out in the fall of last year and took me 5 tries to watch the movie from beginning to end. If you have not seen that blog, go read it. If you haven't seen the movie yet I do highly suggest that you go watch the movie first. Anyway, back to what this blogpost is about... Airplane Mode.

Airplane Mode came out on January 23, 2020 and is the first Portuguese language original comedy film on Netflix. This movie is about when Ana, who studied fashion design dreaming to becoming a great stylists, but drops everything to become a social media influencer for a famous brand. She self-observe and after she crashes her car numerous amount of times, she is sent to go live with her grandfather. She also gets her phone taken away before she goes. If you have not watched this movie yet, you should before you continue reading. Also, if you are going to watch the movie go into Subtitles & Audio on the TV and go down to Audio to push English. That helps a ton to understand what the characters are saying. Speaking of characters, here is who plays who..

Cast:

Larissa Manoela as Ana
Erasmo Carlos as Germano
Katiuscia Canoro as Carola
Andre Farmbach as Joao
Michael Bercovitch as Inacio
Silvia Lourenço as Laura
Mariana Amancio as Rebecca
Dani Ornellas as Antonoa

At first I thought this movie was interesting. Then I was hearing the Portuguese language I was just like "What the f is this?" I found out how to change the language to something I can understand, like English. By the middle of the movie I was starting to loose focus. But I wanted to see what happens at the end. I was still interested, but was losing focus. During watching the movie it inspired me to shut off my Instagram & Twitter notifications. Just cause when I see a notification I stop everything to check it. I want to stop that

I thought the movie teaches us a good lesson by not being so attach to your phone all the time. It's ok to shut your phone off and go off the grid for a little while. That is why when I am in B.C or on a vacation I try my best not to be on my phone. And events too, but I still use the camera on my phone at Writers From The Block, concerts, and other events. Plus when I am in B.C or on a vacation I make sure to still take pictures. I try not to be on Social Media that much.
