Entreatment Industry (Music and Award Shows)

Hey my lovely Chameleons. In today's blog I wrote this a year ago, but never posted this blog. Now that the nominees for the Junos just came out I thought about this blog. Don't get me wrong, I love the Junos, I been twice. I am not talking about just The Junos, it's mostly all the American Music Award shows I have a problem with. I want to start off this blog with a huge apology to Hilary Duff. I feel like I have been a bad fan to threw out the years, since 2015. Hilary's last CD, Breathe In Breathe Out came out in 2015 and that was the last thing that my moma bought me. Fast forward to last year on February 10, I was scrolling on Hilary's Instagram and came across a post from February 6 saying that she is coming out with a new song on February 12 with RAC and her husband, Matthew Koma of a cover from Third Eye Blind. After I saw that 6 days late I had a meltdown about being a bad Hilary Duff fain. Since Tuesday February 11th last year I been listening to Hilary Duff non-stop and bought the new song. I know that didn't mean much, but I felt like I had to say that.

Now I wanted to rant and tell you my feeling on the entreatment industry today. How this all sparked was after The Oscars 2020 I teared that people were upset about the Memorial part of the night. No one was mad at Billie Eilish, who was singing a cover of Yesterday by The Beatles.

Last year on Sunday February 9, 2020 The Oscars were on, and during the Memorial section on The Oscars Billie Eilish ended up singing Yesterday by The Beatles while the pictures were playing in a slideshow of who died in 2019 (and Kobe Bryant). People were upset to see that Luke Perry & Cameron Boyce were not mentioned in the slideshow. Even though Luke's last movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was nominated for a bunch of awards that night.
Here's what I think about why Cameron Boyce was not mentioned is because, to me, Cameron was only big in Disney. Yeah sure, Cameron would of been Oscar big in the future. But we have no way of finding out. Sorry you had to read that, but I strongly stand behind my opinion. I never see any Disney Channel Original Movie win Oscars. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel. Plus the same thing happened to Christina Grimmie in 2017. She got shot at her Orlando Meet & Greet in June of 2016 and she was not mentioned in The Grammys 2017 Memorial section of the show. What I think is, she was on her way on getting that Grammy like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, & Taylor Swift but could get that chance.
Before I go on to my next topic, about award shows I want to say one more thing. I heard that Billie Eilish did not deserve to win Album Of The Year At The Grammys. The truth is, she worked hard like everyone else. I don't care if she did or did not deserve it. The point is she is talented and showed us that working hard pays off. In November 0f 2020 the Grammy 2021 notations were announced leaving The Weeknd and fans mad that The Weeknd was not nominated this year and everyone said he had one of the best CDs of 2020.

If that is not bad enough, Zyan Malik has never been nominated for any award at the Grammys. But his former band mate, Harry Styles is nominated for 3 Grammys. I even found out that One Direction was never nominated in the past. Plus Hate Perry, Snopdog, Sia, and Nicki Minaj were all nominated in the pass, but never won.

Now that we are on topic of award shows, I have a few opinions on them. First and foremost I am not going to talk about Kid's Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and the People's Choice Awards cause they all are base on the new popular TV/Movie, Actor & Actress, & Music that just came out voted by us. I am talking about the Award shows that matter like, The Grammys, The Oscars, and The Emmys. We can throw in the IHeartRadio Music Awards in there too. I want to say is that I do not like Radio Disney Music Awards. The reason for that is cause they are not real. It's just an award show made up for Disney Stars until they are done with three Disney contract. Not saying that all the little award shows are not all bad. Dove Cameron won a Daytime Emmy for her Disney Channel show, Liv & Maddie in 2018.

I know I have said in the past that I don't really listen to the radio, and I only listen when it's on. That is how I like all different kinds on music. But there is one radio station that I will never listen too. That is Radio Disney. Like I said about the RDMA is that Radio Disney is not a real station. They just made it up so the Disney Stars can get a taste of the big world of radio. I know that who ever is on there CAN do better. I am even a stranger to Virgin Radio now lol. When I do listen to Virgin Radio, I sometimes will hear Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and now Sabrina Carpenter. I believe that one of these days you will hear Dove Cameron, Peyton List, and Laura Marano on Virgin Radio too.

For the last few years I feel like the MMVA's (Now IHeartRaido Awards) are based in Toronto to just honour American singers and Canadians are only their to host and perform. If you are lucky a Canadian will win. Again, this is my opinion.

Now, lets talk about The JUNOs. I love the JUNOs, not because they are Canadian, but because they have every type of music category. No one is left out, they are just for Canada, they are always in Canada, the host(s) are Canadian and the performers are also always from Canada.

I was not going to talk about the Kid's Choice Awards, Teen Choice Award, or People's Choice Awards but I really want to say this part which I can not stand. There is a new category for Best Beauty Influencers and Best Social Media Star and I don't like that idea. That can be a different blog, maybe.

That is all I have for Music and Award Shows. I have no problem with movies and shows being nominated I like that shows and movies are being nominated for stiff. Like Locke & Key was nominated for Best Sic-Fantasy Show Of 2020 at the People's Choice Awards.

I don't watch:
  •  Billboard Music Awards
  • MTV Music Videos
  • Kid's Choice Awards
  • American Music Awards
  • Radio Disney Awards
  • Emmys/Daytime Emmys
  • Tonys
I just love seeing who won on the KCA, Most award shows that I don't watch is cause I never heard of them, I don't have the channel or can't find them, or I hear about the show the next day on YouTube. Other than can't stand them.

I watch:
  • The JUNOs
  • IHeartRaido Awards (Previously MMVA)
  • The Oscars
  • The Grammys
  • People's Choice Awards
  • Golden Globes
