Under Wraps (2021) Movie Review

 Hey my lovely Chameleons. In today's blog I am going to talk about a new movie that came out on October 1, 2021. This called, Under Wraps (2021). The reason why I said 2021 is cause this the first DCOM remake. The original was in 1997 and was the first Disney Channel Original Movie.

On October 1, 2021 Disney Channel got a new movie, Under Wraps (2021) and this movie is the very first remake of a DCOM. The first Under Wraps came out in 1997. If you haven't seen the original or the remake here's what it's about; Friends Marshall, Gilbert, and Amy accidentally revive and release a mummy from it's sarcophagus in the days leading up to Halloween. At first terrified, they quickly learn that the mummy who they affectionately name Harold is actually very sweet and in dire need of assistance.

In August I started following this Ava Kolker rampage on Instagram, just cause I love that she has new news on Disney Channel. I viewed her instaStory and saw that they were making a remake of Under Wraps. I did not want to believe it. Then I saw her posting more and more about this movie. I decided to see if it was a remake, but with a different plot and characters. But it was the exact same. One night while I walked Dodge was was thinking maybe I should watch the original and then the remake. Then I stopped and thought after I was done watching the origin and before the remake I need to find a rock to hit myself with. A few days before October 1, 2021 I was considering do that. Minis the rock lol. On October 1 I forgot to watch the original one, the next day I turned Disney on to see what was on and 5 seconds later while watching Under Wraps (2021) I wanted to shut this shit off. After I went on Instagram in the next week and saw that the Ava fanpage posted on her InstaStory. She posted that Under Wraps (2021) was going to be on Disney+ on October 8, 2021. So I decided to post up a poll on Instagram to see if you Chameleons want a review. Now, here we are lol. On October 8, 2021 Disney+ was not working so I found the movie on my laptop. 13 minutes in I wanted to watch the original. I got 45 minutes into that before I went to bed. On October 9, 2021 I ended up watching Under Wraps (2021) and started comparing the 2. the later threw out the day I went out and after dinner I restarted the movie again. As much as I DO NOT like remakes, I have to admit that this movie has some funny bits. I love the Mummy, Harold. Harold is funny and loves hot sauce. I think Harold loves hot sauce more than I do. But I still don't like remakes with a passion, but I sometimes will keep an open mind ro watch them. Here is a fun fact that I am going to leave with; Under Wraps (2021) is the lowest rated Disney Channel Original Movie in history, only receiving 0.41 viewers on premiere night. Goes to show that yo can not remake a classic DCOM.
